Outstanding School Leadership CPD

Assessment Without Deep Marking

Dawn Copping, Chair of the DfE Marking Review Group, Headteacher Shaw Primary

Friday 29th November, 9.30am to 12.00pm, Benton Dene Primary School

Teachers will explore the pros and cons to marking and consider which assessment is right for their own schools. Dawn will take them on her journey from stressed and overloaded staff to improved assessment and pupil outcomes, significantly reduced workload, more reflective teaching practice, highly creative lesson planning and far happier staff ……..and much more.

We work closely with our partner organisations:

Barbara Middleton MBE, Executive Headteacher Shiremoor Primary School, and Backworth Park Primary School National Leader of Education, Regional Representative on Sub-Group for School Improvement, Pupil Premium Reviewer and Director of ShiNE TSA.  As the inspirational leader of an outstanding and innovative team she is responsible for partnership working across the alliance.

Welcome to ShiNE Teaching School Alliance

"Our goal is simple: World class teaching and learning at the forefront of education reform and school improvement to enable every single one of our students and teachers to shine.

We are a partnership of schools and institutions sharing our skills, experience, talent and capacity to help improve learning and achievement in schools across North Tyneside and our surrounding area.

Together with Teaching Schools across the region, ANTS, we recruit graduates and professionals into the profession, School Direct,  and help develop future leaders and excellent teachers through three key themes of work that have a strong moral purpose and self-improving ethos. Our SLEs currently support a number of schools up and down the country and are a tremendous source of inspiration within school."
